The Flamingo Resort on Lake George is
home to The Lake George Charter Service Co.
Even with all the other activities on the lake, Lake George offers some great sport fishing opportunities. In fact, Lake George is one of the top smallmouth bass fishing lakes in the country.
In addition to its great smallmouth fishing you can pursue largemouth bass, lake trout, landlocked salmon, perch and panfish, pike and pickerel, and the occasional bullhead or crappie.
As a guest of the Flamingo Resort on Lake
George, you are welcome to bring your rods
and gear, fish from your own boat, a rental,
and our docks or use the resorts row boats
free of charge. We will always be happy to
assist with fishing advice.
We also offer Fishing Charters on
premises. Fish comfortably aboard, HOOKER CHARTERS, our roomy specially customized deck boat, a
2002, 32 foot Sun Tracker. When bass fishing on our boat you can comfortably fish the front and rear of the boat and not be restricted to just the rear
of the boat. When trolling you won't be cramped or annoyed by noisy diesel motors. Our boat is fully equipped and insured.
We provide a full service, family friendly, memorable experience with knowledgeable guides and quality equipment for a modest price.
Since weather, seasonal movements, and natural forage are what really determine fish activity, we target the
appropriate fish species and adjust fishing techniques accordingly.
We concentrate on private charters trolling for Lake Trout usually from the second week of June through July. We have found this to be the best window of opportunity for a trophy Lake Trout.
We start running our evening party-boat bass charters around mid July and continue through September. August and the first two weeks of September
often producing more
than 100 fish per charter. Because we want the fishing to stay this good, all our Bass charters are catch & release. These are our most popular charters with customers returning
to fish for bass with us every year and some several times a year. These charters are enjoyed by all: seasoned fisherman, children, wives, etc.
Around mid august we start running some private charters trolling for Landlocked Salmon. We find this time when the mornings start to cool to be more productive, usually doing best
when the water is rougher and continuing through September. Though Salmon fishing is not what it used to be in Lake George we are working towards bringing it back to where it once was.
